Food Security at Covid 19: Vulnerabilities, Opportunities and Prospects for Cameroon, 16 June 2020

Covid 19 in Cameroon: Opportunity to reduce food imports? Rise of local consumption? Limitation of food exports and adverse impacts on the national economy? Negative impacts on agriculture?  Opportunities for farmers? Insecurity of national supply?

These are among the questions asked during a webinar organized by the Cameroon office of FES to assess the impacts (positive and negative) of the Covid 19 health crisis on food security. It emerged that governmental, sub-regional and international measures have real impacts on the national food security programme. However, according to the experts, there are opportunities to turn this exceptional situation into an opportunity to reform the entire food security chain.
