Renewable energies in Cameroon : achieve the national strategy for the development of the sector, Yaoundé, Congress center,21 – 22 february

From 21 to 22 February, the International Exhibition on Renewable Energies was held at the Yaoundé Congress Center.
Bringing together public administration, the private sector, academics and many other actors, this meeting aimed to identify the obstacles to the emergence of the renewable energy sector in Cameroon.
The diagnosis on the state of progress of this sector in Cameroon reveals a proliferation of promoters for whom the sector is a kind of “new business”. The quality of the services produced is certainly free of a legal framework that is non-existent, but condemned by bad experiences and testimonials from users.

The strongest prospects of the international renewable energies exhibition following this diagnosis are the importance of a legal framework of the sector on the one hand, and on the other hand, the realization of the ambition to make of 25% the share of renewable energies in Cameroon’s energy mix by 2035.
